Job Purpose

IhsanRD is looking for a dedicated and skilled GBV and Safety Audit Officer to join our team in Turkey. The officer will help ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable groups, especially women and children, in various settings. The ideal candidate should understand GBV issues, know safety audit methods, and have experience working with different communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and apply safety audit procedures and tools, including Kobo tools.
  • Plan and select locations for safety audits with partners and other groups.
  • Train staff, volunteers, and community workers on safety audit methods.
  • Work with (GBV AoR, Protection cluster, WASH, CCCM, FSL, Shelter/NFIs, Education, Health cluster, NGOs, WLOs, and community leaders) to carry out safety audits.
  • Check and improve safety audit procedures for GBV SC members.
  • Create infographics for safety audits.
  • Represent GBV AoR and IhsanRD in other groups to ensure safety audit recommendations are followed.
  • Review and monitor safety audits done by GBV SC members.
  • Write and organize audit findings and reports.
  • Confirm safety audit results with partners and work with other groups to implement recommendations.
  • Prepare and present technical reports to GBV AoR and other groups.
  • Represent IhsanRD in forums, conferences, and meetings to support survivors’ rights and promote GBV prevention.

Note: the above-mentioned key responsibilities/accountabilities are illustrative ones. Another future responsibilities/accountabilities may be assigned to the job depending on the department organizational chart.

 

Qualification (Education/Work Experience)
  • Education: University degree in gender studies, social anthropology, law and women’s rights, sociology, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of progressively responsible professional experience in GBV prevention and response programs, preferably in humanitarian or development settings, including information management, data analysis, and needs assessments.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of gender dynamics, human rights principles, and international frameworks related to GBV.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficient in both quantitative and qualitative analysis, visualization methods, and software. Ability to produce and disseminate regular information management products tailored to various audiences.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel, Kobo, data analysis tools
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrated ability in communication, training, and mentoring both GBV and non-GBV specialists in GBV and safety audit information management standards and principles.
  • Coordination Skills: Strong interest and motivation for coordination between GBV AoR members and other stakeholders.
  • Languages: Fluency in Arabic and English. Knowledge of Turkish is an asset.
  • Work Ethic: Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
